Belle Blanchard Newton

Belle Blanchard Newton served as publicity director, Trade Publishing Division, Doubleday & Co., advertising, promotion and publicity director and chain sales manager, Fawcett Books/CBS Publishing Group and as an adjunct professor at New York University. She also served on the Boards of 670 West End Avenue Corp and West Side Montessori School in New York City. She is Clerk of the Vestry, St. Philip's Church; past president, Garrison Children's Education Fund, Inc.; and was co-president and secretary of the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival board of directors, where she has served as a director since 2000. She graduated from Stratford College, Danville, VA, attended the New School and New York University, and lives in Garrison with her husband Blake T. Newton, III and son Samuel.
