Chris is happy to be back after directing 2010's The Bomb-itty of Errors at HVSF. Other directing credits I Have Before Me A Remarkable Document Given To Me By A Young Lady From Rwanda with Vermont Stage Co.; Shakespeare The Remix with Capital Repertory Theater; Master Harold...and the boys with St. Michael’s Playhouse; Macbeth, The Taming of the Shrew and Love’s Obsession with Lincoln Center’s “Meet the Artists” program; Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, The Winter’s Tale, Hamlet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Julius Caesar with the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival.

Some of Chris’s acting credits include performances in London’s West End, Ireland, Scotland, Off-Broadway, Ubu Rep, John Houseman’s The Acting Company, the Guthrie Theater, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, American Stage, Stamford Theater Works, Vermont Stage Co., Penumbra Theatre, and the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, where some of his favorite roles include: Richard III, Caliban, Mercutio and Pompey.

Chris received his bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Nevada Las Vegas and master of fine arts in theater; acting at the University of Minnesota in association with the Guthrie Theater. He has worked as a freelance director, actor, teacher, and teaching artist for the past ten years in New York City, nationally and internationally.

As a teaching artist, Chris has worked with inner city schools in the five boroughs with the Creative Arts Team, exploring such themes as conflict resolution, peer pressure, and substance abuse through drama. For the past ten years, Chris has been working with the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival as a teaching artist and education consultant. He is currently the director of education, where he has had the pleasure of bringing the works of William Shakespeare to students all over the New York metropolitan area and the Hudson Valley Region.

As a teacher, Chris has taught many different theater courses at Bennington College, University of Nevada Las Vegas, University of Minnesota, St. Michaels’ College, John Houseman’s the Acting Company, Weston Playhouse, and the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival’s Acting Apprenticeship Program. Some of the courses Chris has taught include: Acting, Voice, Shakespearean Scene Study, Stage Combat, Text Analysis and Movement for the Actor.

As a fight director, Chris has choreographed stage fights Off Broadway and for MASS MOCA,  Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, Bennington College and Westchester Community College.
