Ian Murdoch

Raised in the mountains of North Carolina, Ian brings more than a decade of experience supporting artists, residencies, and creative campuses in the Hudson Valley, most recently at Copland House. Trained as a bassist, he cares deeply about live performance, creative community, and the connection between art and place. He completed doctoral work in performance and arts administration at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and his research explores the intersection of performance, neuroscience, and sociology. He is excited to join Hudson Valley Shakespeare’s next chapter, and outside of the arts, he loves exploring the Hudson Valley with his wife and two young sons.
