Ned Whitney joined the Hudson Valley Shakespeare board in 2015. A retired investment banker, Ned spent 33 years at Dillon, Read & Co. Inc. and successor companies, where he was a Managing Director. In addition to serving on the board of HVSF, he is a member and former Chair of the Board of Directors of American Rivers; a member of the Board of Directors of the New York/New Jersey Trail Conference; a member of the President’s Council of The Wilderness Society; the President of the Early Music Foundation of New York; a member of the Board of Advisors of the European Institute at Columbia University; and a member of the Advisory Board of the Constitution Marsh Audubon Center and Sanctuary in Garrison, N.Y. He earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and his B.A., Magna Cum Laude in History, from Harvard College. Ned lives in New York City, Garrison, N.Y., and Barton, Vermont. He is married to Martha C. Howell, the Miriam Champion Professor of History at Columbia University.
