Purchasing Tickets
What's the difference between a season pass and a membership?
Season Passes are ticket packages that let you pre-purchase multiple tickets for the season at a discounted rate. Choose a 4-ticket pass (two pairs for the Shakespeare plays) or a 6-ticket pass (three pairs for all shows). Passholders save up to 20% on single-ticket prices and get early access to reserve seats before the general public.
Memberships are donation-based and support Hudson Valley Shakespeare’s mission. Members help sustain the work of the organization and stay connected throughout the season. Benefits vary by donation level and may include complimentary tickets, ticket discounts, invitations to special member events, and more. Donate now to access Member Benefits. Memberships are valid for 12 months, beginning on the date your donation is received.
Accessing your tickets
How do I pick up my tickets?
HVS strives to be paperless and we issue secure digital tickets are paperless tickets delivered straight to you via email. Once you purchase your tickets, you will receive a confirmation email that will include your digital e-tickets within minutes of you completing your transaction. The tickets within the email include a QR code that will be scanned by a member of our front of house team upon entering the theater. If you have a cell phone number on file, we will also send a text message on the morning of your performance that will include a quick link to your digital tickets .
I don't have a smartphone or tablet
Digital Tickets do require you to have a smartphone or tablet to display your tickets for scanning at the venue. Alternatively, you can opt to pick your tickets up at the theater's will call. Please call 845.265.9575 or send us an email. boxoffice@hvshakespeare.org, and we will be glad to help you arrange to print your traditional paper tickets for pick-up at Guest Services.
Can I print my digital tickets and bring them with me to the performance?
If you do not have a smartphone or tablet you are able to bring to the venue, you may print off the tickets you received in your email.
What if my device looses charge or is out of power?
Visit Guest Services when you arrive at the performance and we would be happy to print your traditional paper tickets for the ticket owner for the performance.
All Sales Are Final.
Please note that all ticket and product sales are final. We do not offer refunds under any circumstances.
Exchanges
If you are unable to attend your scheduled event or need to make changes, we encourage you to contact us in advance of your event date. Tickets can be exchanged for another available date or time up to one week before showtime for a $10 fee per ticket, plus any price difference. All exchanges are subject to availability.
Members of the Saints & Poets Society and Highland Circles and Season Pass Holders receive free exchanges.
Can I bring my kid?
We welcome children 5 and over, and we have discounted tickets for all children under the age of 18! Because small children can be unpredictable audience members, we do not allow children under 5 years of age under the tent.
Parents know best, but all our shows are recommended for ages 10+. Our box office staff are standing by to answer any questions about the content of each show. We hope to see you (and your family) at the theater this summer!
What does the small i next to my seat mean?
Any seats with a small “i” icon are marked for accessibility purposes, although anyone is welcome to book these seats. This icon typically indicates that a seat is at ground level (no stairs) or that the seat can be removed to accommodate a wheelchair. You'll also see more seats with these icons during our Enhanced Performances to indicate the preferred location for audience members to view the captions or ASL interpreter.
It's flooding! It's burning up! Is our performance canceled?
Nope! We believe in the power of theater, and we go on rain or shine. If there are serious weather concerns, we do have safety plans in place, and our amazing Front-of-House team will keep you safe. More often than not, unpredictable weather makes for an even more special evening of live theater. If you're especially concerned about a trying evening outdoors, check the 10-day weather forecast and keep in mind our Exchange Policy allows exchanges for a small admin fee, with as little as one week's notice.
I got caught in traffic! What happens if I arrive late?
Guests who arrive after a performance has begun will be seated in the back of the house at an opportune moment determined by the production, and can take their original seats at intermission.
