Join your neighbors, fellow artists, crafters, makers, stitchers, and builders on our RIP VAN WINKLE Community Design/Build Team! We’re seeking a team of committed volunteers to create the sets, props, masks, costumes, and puppets for this summer’s FULL CIRCLE production of RIP VAN WINKLE.
No experience is necessary, though some skills are preferred! Witness the full lifespan of this citizen-driven production – from early brainstorming sessions to full-blown performances – while sharing and cultivating your own skills along the way. Some information about the when, how, what, and where…
is Sunday, July 8th, from 6-10pm. We’d like for everyone to be there, if possible!
There will be 4 Community Build Sessions — Sundays July 15, 22, 29 and Saturday August 4th, from 1-5pm. Our preference is to build a team that can commit to all four dates, if possible. But if you can’t, don’t worry! We’ll be working together, making large objects, puppets, and masks out of recycled and found materials. Community Build Sessions will be led by our design and production team, and will take place at Safe Harbors of the Hudson, at 111 Broadway, in Newburgh. Ages 12 and up.
You can work as much or as little as you like, on your own time. Most of this work will be individual, though there may be some larger group work sessions. Depending on what you’re interested in, there may be opportunities for everything from building whole costumes from scratch to simple hand sewing, dying and distressing fabric, mending and alterations. Costume design and build will be supervised by our design and production team. Ages 16 and up.
For Other Backstage Work
We are also looking for people to work backstage, on our wardrobe crew! Ages 16 and up.
If this sounds interesting to you, please fill out the survey below and we’ll be in touch! For more information, contact Elizabeth Audley at firstname.lastname@example.org.
