Teaching Artists
Position Overview
We are currently seeking passionate and creative Teaching Artists local to the Hudson Valley to join our dynamic Education Team. The role is multi-faceted and requires the ability to execute various educational programs, develop curriculum, manage communications, and be a team player. This is an extraordinary opportunity for those interested in leveraging the arts to make a transformative impact on the lives of students and communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute Educational Programs: You will be responsible for executing a range of programs, including but not limited to, FreeWill residency programs, Enact in-school workshops, community outreach programs, and audience enrichment initiatives.
- Curriculum Development: You will create age-appropriate curriculum for students ranging from elementary to post-secondary levels.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between fellow Teaching Artists and schools, managing communications efficiently and effectively.
- Travel Coordination: Oversee and coordinate travel to and from all programs.
- Material Preparation: Ensure all materials needed for programs are prepared in advance.
- Shakespearean Knowledge: Maintain a high level of expertise in the works of Shakespeare.
- Teamwork: Serve as a supportive and flexible team member, willing to share and test new ideas and activities.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in educational programming is preferred.
- Knowledge of Shakespeare and theater practice.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A passion for education and community outreach.
