We’re training Generation Next! Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival is passionate about preparing aspiring actors, production professionals, and administrators–including college interns and recent graduates–for careers in theater, creating secure pathways to future employment. While most theater training programs are unpaid (or charge tuition), we’re proud to pay educational stipends to participants and, in most cases, offer local housing, reducing barriers to employment in the arts.
Our Conservatory Company training program, Production and Administrative Internships, and Directing Fellowships offer exceptional practical experience through collaboration, hands-on learning, and mentorship.
Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival (HVSF) was awarded a $75,000 New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) Workforce Readiness Program grant in 2018 to support HVSF Generation Next: Training Tomorrow’s Theater Professionals, a comprehensive job training program for up to 20 early-career actors, designers, technicians, and managers.
