Michael had a 25-year career in the media industry, where he held
senior finance positions at ESPN, Madison Square Garden, NBC, and
Showtime Networks. For the next 15 years he shifted his attention to
the not-for-profit sector. He served as the EVP and Chief Financial
Officer at Sesame Workshop, which produces Sesame Street and other
educational programming. Michael also worked as the Director of the
Adirondack Museum. In addition, he has consulted for other non-profit
organizations.
He was on the Board of Directors for the Mental Health Association of
Westchester, now the Greater Mental Health of New York, for over 20
years, where he served as its Board President from 2013-2017. Michael
was on the Board of Directors of the Jacob Burns Film Center from
2018-2024, where he served as its Treasurer, and was elected as a
board member emeritus. He is currently a member of the Philipstown
Behavioral Health Hub board as well as the organization’s treasurer.
Michael holds a B.A. in English Literature from Columbia College and a
M.B.A. from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
Michael and his wife Kate Stone Lombardi, a journalist, live in Cold
Spring.
