Join us for a unique sensory-friendly lantern making workshop in collaboration with the Yellow Finch Project!

Led by a team of experienced artists and educators, this workshop is the final in a series of free collaborative workshops leading up to Highland Lights’ Ad Astra-inspired by the constellations in the night sky and the enduring hope and imagination they ignite. Participants will create their own cosmos of illuminated celestial characters and tales that will emerge at twilight to wander the hills and meadows on Earth Day, April 22. The lanterns created during this workshop can be taken home or released to be used to guide attendees as they explore the heavens and join the final procession.

The workshop itself is designed to provide a comfortable experience for all participants, with adjustments made to the environment, materials, and instructions to accommodate sensory sensitivities. Parents, caregivers, and respite care workers are encouraged to stay and provide support. This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with other members of the community who share your values of inclusion, creativity, and fun. So why wait? Sign up for the sensory-friendly lantern making workshop and join us in celebrating creativity and cultivating connections to the community.
