Detailed Guidance:
Updated as of May 11, 2021

The governor recently announced a significant easing of COVID-19 restrictions, however outdoor entertainment operators — like HVSF — still have to maintain social distancing between patrons and follow the official, written guidance from New York State for “Small and Medium Scale Performing Arts & Entertainment”.

Throughout the summer, we will continue to evaluate our safety practices to reflect the current, documented guidance from New York State and update our policies accordingly.

Attending A Performance

  • All attendees will need to fill out a symptom screening online the day of the performance, prior to their arrival at Boscobel.
  • Guests will have their temperatures checked with a contactless thermometer upon arrival.
  • As required by New York State, guests will have to show proof of a recent negative COVID-19 test (within 72 hours of the performance) or proof of full vaccination. HVSF Staff will accept printed and digital documentation, including the Excelsior Pass.
  • The performances this summer will be 90 minutes with no intermission.  There will be no concessions offered in the middle of the show.  When the show is over, our staff will help direct audience members to leave safely, row by row, to ensure distancing can be maintained.
  • Our actors will be unmasked, for their safety inside the tent, we will be masked all summer.

Social Distancing

  • Even though we are outdoors, please keep at least six (6) feet of distance between yourself and people outside of your party

Distanced Seating

  • To maintain distance between groups under the tent, we’ve removed every other row of seats from the audience
  • When booking tickets, our ticketing system will enforce a space of two seats between your booked tickets and the next party

Booking Tickets

  • Online the maximum number of tickets you can book per performance will be eight (8). If you have a group larger than eight (8) please call the HVSF box office at 845-265-9575 for assistance.
  • When booking multiple tickets, the assumption is that you are booking for a pod of people who are comfortable sitting together. If you are booking multiple tickets for groups that need to be distanced from each other, please call the HVSF box office at 845-265-9575 for assistance.
  • When booking online, you will select the section where you would like to book and the ticketing system will select the best available seat within that section.
  • This year, we are switching to fully electronic ticketing. Once you book your tickets, you’ll receive an email with a link to a PDF ticket. The HVSF staff be equipped with scanners that can read the ticket from your phone for contactless ticketing.
  • For contact tracing purposes, when booking tickets you will need to provide the name and email for each person in your party.

Timed Arrival

  • In order to control the flow of patrons, when booking your ticket, you will be asked to indicate an arrival time to Boscobel.
  • Based on the seating section you book, you will be assigned an entry time to the tent. Prior to the start of the performance, HVSF’s staff will announce when it is time for your group to enter the tent and will guide you to your seat. Similar to airline boarding groups.
  • If you do not have a picnic reservation, arrive at the site approximately 15 minutes before your timed entry to the tent.

Pre-Show Picnicking

  • If you plan to picnic before the show, you will need to book a picnic reservation along with your tickets.
  • A limited number of distanced, picnic squares will be indicated on the property for each performance.
  • Picnic squares can hold a maximum of eight (8) people. If booking for more than eight (8) people, please call the HVSF box office.
  • Picnicking will only be permitted to ticket holders for the evening’s performance.

Face Coverings

  • Our actors will be unmasked, for their safety inside the tent, we will be masked all summer.
  • Masks are required at all times, including: upon entry, when interacting with staff, in the restrooms, and on shared walkways.
  • Masks may only be removed when actively eating/drinking while seated in a designated area that is 6ft apart from other parties.
  • While seated under the theater tent, face coverings will be required at all times.

Eating/Drinking

  • Guests will be permitted to eat and drink in their designated picnic areas, or in outdoor areas away from other patrons.
  • For the safety of our actors, eating and drinking (with the exception of water) will not be allowed under the tent this season.
  • Because of these restrictions, HVSF’s concession offerings will be extremely limited this year. If you plan to picnic on-site, please bring your own meal.  We encourage you to order from one of our local vendors listed here.

Bathrooms

  • Portable restrooms will be available this summer. The units this season are single stalls, so there will be no communal sink area. Please note there will be no intermission for either show.

Health

  • If you are sick or do not feel well, please do not attend. Due to the pandemic, we have a fully flexible exchange policy for 2021.
  • Guests may not enter the property if any of the following apply:
      • You currently have a fever of 100.4 °F or greater.
      • You have had, in the past 48 hours, any symptoms of COVID-19.
      • You have had close contact with a person who has confirmed COVID-19.
      • You tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days.
      • In the last 14 days you have traveled from a country that meets the criteria for required quarantine upon arrival.
  • If any of the above apply to anyone in your party when you arrive, the entire party will not be able to attend the performance. We will do our best to rebook for a different performance, or, we will offer you a ticket to our digital streaming production.
  • As required by New York State, guests may have to show proof of a recent negative COVID-19 test (within 72 hours of the performance) or proof of full vaccination. HVSF Staff will accept printed and digital documentation, including the Excelsior Pass.
