We’re implementing necessary changes to make sure we can safely create theater and welcome you back. Read about our measures to ensure everyone’s safety this season.
This season we’re filming our shows so that you can stream them from the comfort of your couch. We just want to bring theater to you however we can!

Learn about each of the performers on stage with us this summer.
Thank you to each and every supporting person and company that are making this season possible.
We believe that the greatest learning experience we can provide is one that invites students to approach the plays as actors do: as a company of artists that uses active, exploratory problem-solving techniques to develop a greater understanding and enjoyment of Shakespeare’s stories, characters, and language.
HVSF was founded by Melissa Stern and Terry O’Brien in September 1987 with an outdoor production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Manitoga, home of industrial designer Russell Wright, in Garrison, NY.
Mark your calendars for our Annual Gala this fall, October 10! It’ll be a night of fun, celebrating our community and looking forward to the next season.
In choosing to support HVSF, you are helping to ensure the vitality of live theater in our community, training for the next generation of professional actors, and the experience of bringing Shakespeare’s text to life for more than 50,000 students and educators each year.
Let us introduce you to the Leadership Team and Staff Members that keep HVSF running throughout out the year.
Our Summer Festival comes together each year with an incredible Creative Team. Learn about the designers and technicians that make our shows come to life.
